Program Overview

Recreation soccer is intended for all kids.  Kids in our recreation program will learn soccer, be with their friends, and have a lot of fun!  We have a Spring and Fall seasons.  After you register, a coach will contact you about the program, practice night, and games. In the Fall, most recreation teams practice one night during the week and have a game on Saturday.  Our U6 program, for kids 6 years of age and younger, plays only on Saturday.  In the Spring the format varies and is detailed below.

Ages / Divisions

Our age groups are based on age as of august 1st.

U6
Kids in our Under 6 program are 5 or 6 years old.  U6 players must be at least 5 years old as of December 31st.  U6 plays on Saturday mornings or early afternoon in the fall.  Our format is very simple and fun.  The Tolland Soccer Club's introduction to the sport, our U6 program is designed to help kids learn to love the game. Saturday morning sessions in the Fall and a single Weeknight session in the Spring will use developmentally appropriate activities to teach soccer basics as well as to develop overall motor skills. Most activities will engage your child in a "one child, one ball" setting to maximize their enjoyment and learning. Sessions will conclude with informal 3 v 3 scrimmages for them to learn to apply the skills they've learned.  A seperate, similar, spring program is offered on a weeknight, with sign-ups in February and March.

U8, U10, U12, U14
Kids in these brackets practice one night a week.  Games are on Saturday in the Fall.  A spring soccer program is offered but registered for seperately.  In the Spring, the U8 division practices and plays games afterward on a single Weeknight.  U10, U12 and U14 teams practice one night a week in the Spring, and play a game, often against other towns, on the weekend.

U19
This is an informal COED league that plays on Friday nights in Tolland against neighboring towns.  Additional game opportunities are available on Saturday in Marlborough.  This bracket is only open to  players who do not play on the highschool soccer team.
